Traditions Are Hard to Break Over the Holidays

Traditions Are Hard to Break Over the Holidays
For more than 27 years it has been a tradition in San Antonio to have our Annual Ford Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony the day after Thanksgiving. Yes, come and join us on November 25, 2011 from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M. for a night on the San Antonio River.

This spectacular Holiday River Parade will last approximately one hour and will have some the finest illuminated floats with celebrities, bands, and lavishly-costumed participants.

Tickets are on Sale Now, and can be ordered online by visiting River Parade Tickets.
Tickets are no longer being mailed. Tickets ordered will be held at Will Call for pick up the day of the parade. Will Call will be located at La Villita (418 Villita St. 78205) from 8 am to 7 pm the Day of the Parade. You will need to present a photo ID to claim your tickets.

See Frequently Asked Questions for more information about this event before ordering your tickets. If you want to see the route of the parade, you will want to see the Map of the Parade Route, which clearly shows the pricing for the different sections and the approximate arrival times for the floats.

Around 7:00 P.M. on the Friday following Thanksgiving, the switch will be turned on for approximately 1.4 million LED lights that will create a holiday wonderland on the San Antonio River Walk. These lights will shine brightly every evening until January 1, 2012. This lighting ceremony is the official kickoff to the Paseo Del Rio Holiday Festivities. It’s a Texas -size celebration that’s Purely San Antonio. Over 150,000 people will be expected to gather along the River Walk to watch this amazing event live along the parade route. Millions more will join in the fun by watching this event on local and national television broadcasts. Come to San Antonio, TX and enjoy our Annual Holiday River Parade.
